I’m going to guess that you’re a couple that lead busy lives. You probably work full-time, have busy social lives and don’t have a huge amount of free time. So many couples find planning a wedding stressful and this usually comes down to not having enough time. Contacting suppliers often needs to be done in work hours, which of course is just when you are busy at work! On the lead up to your wedding, you shouldn’t be stressed out and you don’t need to be. Some bits of wedding planning are really boring!

Yes there are some fun bits, such as choosing your favourite flowers, going for a tasting for your wedding day menu, or sampling different flavoured cakes. But let’s be honest, there is a lot of other administration tasks that are just pretty boring and time consuming. Your wedding planner can do as much or as little as you like. If you still want to be involved in the creative fun things, then your planner can just take on the administrative tasks, such as placing orders and managing the budget for you. Or if you feel comfortable with the planning and organisation, but just want to make sure someone is co-ordinating everything on the day then they can do this for you.

I don’t need a planner; my venue has their own

Most venues will have a wedding co-ordinator. But just to be clear, they will not help you to plan your wedding. They will make sure that your food is served on time and that the tables are set-up correctly. But they won’t help you with choosing suppliers, negotiating prices, making bookings, helping with design ideas, ordering wedding stationery… etc.

On your special day you should be able to relax and enjoy it just as much as your guests will. So many brides say that they just couldn’t really enjoy their day because they were feeling stressed or worried about something. There are so many elements to a wedding that all need to come together. The venue/s need to be set-up and decorated. Tables need to be laid. Your suppliers all need to know the schedule of the day, when they need to arrive, who they need to speak to, if they will have food provided for them and where they can eat this… etc. There is a lot to consider. Having someone there on the day to co-ordinate everything can really help to ensure that the only thing you need to worry about is getting married!
